Richmond Farm Goes Solar
Twin Oaks Farm is an equestrian facility with competition rings, indoor arenas and forty stalls in Richmond, BC. They aim to provide the best possible experience for horse owners.
When the folks at Twin Oaks were looking to reduce their carbon footprint, they were curious to see how solar panels could help. They live and breathe everything to do with being outdoors and preserving our land. If solar could reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and their electricity bills, it could be the perfect fit!
After reviewing their electricity consumption, our solar engineers created a plan that would virtually take them off the grid – meaning nearly 100% of their electricity would come from the solar panels which would eliminate their electricity bills!
With a long-term perspective, an investment in solar made sense. Investing in solar created an opportunity for great long-term returns with very little risk, especially when paired with Penfolds’ industry leading 25 year warranty.
There were so many benefits for Twin Oaks Farm to go solar including:
- Upfront tax breaks on capital costs with Investment Tax Credits
- Increased building value with depreciable assets
- Reduced carbon footprint with lower greenhouse gas emissions
- Lower building cooling costs due to thermal barrier created by the panels
